On June 12, Bobby Dunn and Ali Wiggins of Guardian Pharmacy of Northwest Florida spoke at an event hosted by Pacifica-Woodmont in Tallahassee, Florida. The seminar addressed how communities should prepare for an emergency in the event of a natural disaster. Bobby and Ali spoke about the role of the pharmacy during times of evacuation, which can be a big source of support for those involved.
Guardian was also joined by members of the Tallahassee Fire Department, who spoke about how to plan for the unexpected. Topics for discussion included what to put in your emergency kit, evacuation routes and more. Attendees were very interested in ways to pre-plan, as this step is often overlooked. This includes preparing financial and healthcare summaries beforehand and having doctor’s and pharmacy’s phone numbers.
