As you may know, hurricane season starts June 1 and ends November 30. As a long-term care pharmacy provider, Guardian SEFL stays up-to-date on the latest weather conditions to ensure we will be able to provide pharmaceuticals to our facilities during a weather emergency.
Last month, Southeast Florida had the first potential hurricane threat in almost ten years.
Days prior to the potential target date of the storm, our office had an all-team meeting to review our emergency plan and ensure our procedures were set. In addition, our pharmacy ordered a commercial generator, planned for mandatory overtime, prepared all cycle medications, coordinated with our facilities for any special needs and planned internally for the safety and care of our employees and their families.
While the hurricane never came to life, we feel more prepared than ever to handle any weather threat that may come our way. Our team truly enjoyed this time working together as a family to prepare for even the most unpredictable circumstances.
