As we exit the last couple of weeks of hurricane season, Hurricane Matthew taught a valuable lesson for all when it comes to hurricane preparedness. We were very fortunate in Northeast Florida.
While there was massive flooding down in St. Augustine, all our residents on the coast up to Fernandina safely evacuated and returned home all in the same weekend. Although it was a stressful time for staff, we thank them for their cooperation in working with us and making sure their residents received everything that they needed prior to evacuation.
We hope to not experience that again in our lifetime. However, how prepared would you be if it happened again? We have put together a check list to help!
- Have you reviewed your carts and submit all refill requests?
- If you are evacuating, have you notified the pharmacy?
- Do you have spare keys to medication carts that will be brought with you?
- If you are on EMAR, have you printed a hard copy of medical records?
We are so happy that everyone stayed safe through the storm. If you have questions regarding our hurricane preparedness procedures you can contact Georgina Leininger, our Director of Sales and Marketing at Georgina.Leininger@GuardianPharmacy.net.
